What Are Liberica Coffee Beans?

Liberica beans come from the Coffea liberica plant, a species of coffee tree that grows much larger than typical coffee plants. These trees can reach up to 20 meters (65 feet) tall, producing unusually large, irregularly shaped beans.

Unlike most coffee beans, Liberica has an asymmetrical, teardrop-like shape and a unique aroma that many describe as floral, fruity, smoky, and slightly woody.
